Legal Threat Received from Scrooz

On 11 August 2025 the Managing Director of Scrooz sent the following letter demanding the removal of a critical review. We publish it here to illustrate the tone of correspondence some customers report receiving after leaving negative feedback.

WITHOUT PREJUDICE

Michael,

I have been made aware of your recent Google review of Scrooz. Your review is incredibly damaging to our reputation and clearly will affect our sales.

It is demonstrably false and misleading to the public and appears to be something of a reaction due to not getting our advertised prices reduced solely for you.

It takes many years of excellent service and effort to build a good reputation and produce a professional quality trade range fit for the biggest contractors and projects in Australia and we can’t allow your sort of unwarranted behaviour to damage that.

I have instructed our Lawyers to commence proceeding against you for Defamation to include losses, compensation and costs for same from the date of posting and advised Google accordingly.

I would suggest you get some legal advice or do the sensible thing and remove it immediately before significant escalation occurs; we will not offer this opportunity again.

What Customers Are Saying

Numerous public sources paint a very different picture to the marketing on Scrooz’s own website. We highlight a few negative experiences below along with links to their sources.

High percentage of dissatisfied users

On a review aggregator site AskmeOffers, Scrooz received a low overall rating. Their pie‑chart shows that 21% of respondents rated the company “Terrible” and 28% rated it “Poor”, leaving only 13% rating it “Very Good” and 10% “Excellent”【835507962899757†L76-L82】.

Shipping delays & poor service

One reviewer on ProductReview.com.au complained that Scrooz “took 7 days to get around to shipping my order (plus 2 more days for postal delivery)” and concluded that the company “ain’t hungry for business”【914156799424743†L10-L12】.

Limited availability

The AskmeOffers editorial notes that Scrooz only sells to customers within Australia and provides no international shipping option【835507962899757†L135-L137】. For overseas buyers looking for speciality fasteners, this limitation can be frustrating.
